I don’t know, but anytime I see electric plasma rather from radio vacuum tubes or otherwise it really makes my tops of my hands tingle a lot. I’m not sure what causes this maybe because my mind not liking plasma or gives me a nervous reaction to plasma. I’m not sure.

You are life Saver.. I just order a fan from Farnel and got a 3 wire fan.. I was like what?? My amplifier need a 2 wire fan.. A check on data sheet reveal sensor.. Its so misleading as i thought connet to a thermistor to control speed fan but in actual fact it is a open collector tachometer. By watching your video, my worries gone and i knew exactly what to do. You save time and effort to experiment and might blew up the fan or give up as that yellow wire is not an input but an output.

Grrrrr, i suspect my meter might be possessed, or at a minimum this mfk'r just has a mind of its own, like a norman bates, jack Nicholson from the shining type mind! I am glad I found this video. I picked up a similar one from the flea market, unfortunately the transformer is blown. If you can let me know the secondary voltages of the transfomer it will be really helpful.

If you have it in a shop, that’s safe you can do this. Just make sure that you have gloves with you. can’t do that in full power for too long. Otherwise it’ll cause the circuitry to self-destruct meaning that it’ll sort out after about an hour. You also can’t be able to leave in the table or surface because it will be able to cause a flareup.

Yeah, if you get a soldering iron kit on your own. Don’t use max power. It’s just best if you just leave it at the power it recommends, and then just use it for working

The field coil was used as a filter to the power supply. You need to account for that with either a choke (as it originally was used as) or add a capacitor between those resistors you added.

That "dim" later could actually be incredibly bright and eye damaging It's just as you said yourself it's barely within what our eyes can pick up.
